The Asian eye type often features an upward slant when compared to the Caucasian eye, called the ‘Mongolian slant’, which gives a hostile impression. Eye Slant Reduction Surgery is a new type of lateral canthoplasty that elongates such Asian eyes and lowers the outer corner of the eyes, reducing the palpebral slant and reshaping the eyes. Such canthoplasty is also called multi-lateral a canthoplasty or lower eyelid canthoplasty.

Surgical Method |
|
Unlike previous lateral canthoplasties, which were performed lengthwise, this method vertically enlarges the eyes as much as you desire by fastening the lower eyelids with absorbable sutures under the periosteum. The surgery makes no incision on the lower eyelids, and instead gently pulls them and fastens them to the periosteum. |

Advantages of Eye Slant Reduction Surgery |
|
01. Enlarges both the length and width of the eyes at once
02. Doesn’t come undone, since it rearranges the lateral canthal ligament and fastens it to the periosteum, unlike previous lateral canthoplasties
03. Doesn’t allow the widened outer corner of the eye to return to its pre-surgery state
04. Leaves no scar and doesn’t hinder the growth of eyelashes
05. Makes almost no swelling or bruising due to the simplicity of the procedure, allowing a return to daily life within 5 to 7 days
06. Enables eye enlargement of 5 to 7 mm on average
07. Makes the eyes appear large, soft and open, with an elongated length and reduced slant
08. By adjusting the fixation point, a lateral canthoplasty alone can be performed, or alternatively both eye slant reduction and lateral canthoplasty can be performed at the same time |
