Inverted Nipple Correction |
A nipple which does not protrude but is retracted into the breast is known as an inverted nipple.
It is caused by fibrous bands under the nipple keeping it pulled downward, and is generally accompanied by a lack of tissue supporting the nipple.
Approximately 2 to 3% of Korean women are reported to have an inverted nipple.
It can cause mastitis, or disturbance to lactation in severe cases as well as aesthetic problems.
