Hello~ I am 21 years old and I had square jaw reduction surgery at Braun. I used to go through many reviews online before surgery and have many thoughts about it. Now here I am writing one ^^ I am very detailed and curious about many things. By looking at the reviews on this website, I had a lot of thoughts such as is not it Photoshop? Do not you just write good comments for advertising? Is it really going to be like that after 2 or 3 weeks? And so on. So I promise to write down the truth honestly at 100%. I did not photo shop my photos at all. The 1st photo is pre-op and the 2nd one is post-op on the 3rd week. If there are people like me, just trust my review! And because of this meticulous nature, I am confident that I have read almost all the information about plastic surgery, side effects, and all the review of each clinic online. I also joined all the online community related to plastic surgery! It was safety that I thought was the most important and I wanted to have a pretty face shape which looks natural. First of all, I had the surgery on February 10th at night; it has been 3 weeks since I had my surgery. After 3 weeks, the line I wanted is showing not, Not all the sense on my lower lip and lower chin area has come back yet and there is still swelling (I am surprised because my desirable line is shown already even with the swelling!). My face does not seem awkward at all and it seems pretty normal even when I talk. I did not tell anyone else but my mom about the surgery. During the 2nd week after the surgery, I met my friends, but no one noticed my change hahahaha. They just told me that my face looks slimmer and I look prettier^^ About a week after the surgery, my face looked like my original face! It was not swollen much. Just my lower lip was swollen and I felt kind of weird. I have a small mouth, but I had to open my mouth wide during the surgery so I had some scabs around my mouth because of that. On my 2nd week, I ate very well so I gained 1~2 kgs. I looked similar to my first week. The senses on my lower lip and lower jaw have not come back yet. After coming back from Braun, I got myself together and control my diet. So during the 2nd week and 3rd week, the swelling started subsided fast. I was worried because I had to go to school 3 weeks after the surgery, but the swelling went down fast enough. And post operative care (Anti-swelling later, high frequency, ultra sonic treatment, and micro frequency treatment) at Braun helped a lot for that. I only focused on post operative care during my 3rd week! I worked out all the time except the time I sleep and eat. And I did a foot bath and a Lymph massage for 40 minutes every morning and night. Every day I drank 6 pumpkin juices, 6 tablets of Bromelain (a supplement for anti-swelling) between morning and dinner. For my diet, I ate pumpkin porridge, seaweed, and tofu. I drank black soybean milk and 2~3 liters of water. Therefore, my weight reduced. The post operative care is important as much as the surgery result! The doctor told me to practice speaking, but I was alone most of the time so I practice speaking English by repeating after an English studying materials. It was helpful. I kept speaking all day by saying A E I O U. After doing that, I started feeling more comfortable with speaking hahahahaha. I want to talk about my thoughts after I had this surgery. I am satisfied with my surgery 200%. I had researched about this type of surgery for about 2 weeks. I gathered all the information about various clinics! And then, I considered all the side effects of this surgery such as losing senses, toothache, asymmetry, skin sagging, long term pain, and etc). I am trying hard to prevent from getting those side effects through post operative care because I am aware that I might not get it now but I could have an issue later. Anyway, all my anxiety before the surgery disappeared after the surgery. First, I had no pain after the surgery. I felt dizzy for a couple of days after the surgery because of general anesthesia. Nausea gave me a hard time but not because of the pain on surgical areas. There was no toothache either. I just had some tingling pain in my front chin a bit. When I checked reviews from other clinics, people mentioned that they were in pain even after 1 or 2 weeks. However, I was amazed because unlike those I was not in pain at all. The swelling subsided fast as well. To be honest, each clinic informs a patient that 2 to 3 weeks after surgery, daily life is possible and all the swelling will subside. However, there are some people whose faces are still swollen even after 2~3 weeks. I was surprised that the swelling will be gone so fast although the doctor told me that my face might swell more than the other patients because I have more fat on my cheeks. I was so worried about going to school with the swelling on my face, but now I am happy that I don’t have to worry about it. Moreover, I am satisfied with my face line. Frankly, I was worried about too sharp face line like a doll after looking at the photos on the website. (I noticed that there are other people who concern about the same issue like me after looking at pre and post operation photos). However, after the surgery, I realized that the doctor makes the face line which a patient wants whether it is sharp or natural. The doctor applies his sense of beauty to what I want. He told me that he cut off a bit more of square jaw behind the ear for a better frontal view, after hearing that I was concerned about that a little honestly. In that moment I thought I want my face to look naturally not like a dog’s face. But now I think it was an excellent choice. A decent amount of the angled bone below the ear is left nicely. Only having the square jaw reduction surgery gives a great frontal effect. I went to many other famous clinics for consultation; I was told that if I do not get front chin surgery, nearly there might not be a frontal effect. I did not consider about front chin surgery so I was concerned about it. Finally, I chose Braun to have square jaw reduction surgery because the doctor told me that only having that surgery can give an effective result. I believe it was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. I wish I could show my face to the other doctors who told me square jaw reduction is not sufficient for me hahahaha. Truthfully, I felt that Braun recommends the minimum surgeries suitable for each patient, which is different from other clinics where making money is the priority. My mom was against having the surgery, but now she agrees that it was a good choice to have the surgery and is happy with my current look. ^^ I'm looking forward to going to see the director for the 3rd week check up tomorrow! My mouth is small, so he had a lot of trouble doing the surgery. I really appreciate his effort. I can't imagine what would have happened if I had done it at other clinic. The director is good at it, so I'm sure you did a good job in a bad condition like me. Thank you for doing the surgery as I want to be safe. Thank you again. |
